I have San Andreas on PC (bought via steam) and after listening to last weeks 1upYours podcast I really feel like playing some multiplayer :D

Whats the best mod out there at the minute and does anyone know where the mmo style mod is hosted which they talked about at the begining of the show?

SA-MP for me. That's what the MMO type game will have been on (there's hundreds of different custom scripts ranging from standard deathmatch, cops and robbers type affairs to freeroam type servers where you can buy houses and gang land and stuff like that)

Although if i recall correctly with the Steam version of SA being fully updated to stop Hot Coffee, you can't play either mod because the Hot Coffee fix stopped mods ALTOGETHER. D:

MTA have made an 'sa-mp' type mod now (took them a while) i find these things are good for messing about on at least :p (in the mta version on freeroam servers they let you select any vehicle+mods/character/weapons and more...) Fun :D

SAMP overall.

I do like racing though and I love designing races with the map editor in MTA.
MTA has some stupid downsides though:
Motion blur, damn I hate that.
Rediculously low frame limit, clearly stutters when for example driving through a tunnel and looking sideways at the wall.

I'd like SAMP, but with the MTA map/game designer.

Just tried MTA and SAMP. I'm sure if they're given time they can be fun, and there are certainly a few people on here who enjoy them, but don't get too excited....

I found them both really crude and not a great deal of fun. Don't get me wrong, I think they're an awesome effort, the dev's have made a SP game MP, but it's not the experience I was hoping for.

Certainly try both but my advise is not to get too excited and to be prepared to put some effort into getting into them........

Just my 2p

Both have been out for ages and MTA has recently changed a lot, for the better of course.

Chase the car and Cops v Robbers are the best scenarios/maps. Perhaps you chose a bad one? Like climb the hay, or a roaming one which I find are usually full of cheaters spawn killing with guns.

I enjoyed them but they're coming to the end of their life I think.

SAMP has more people but MTA is more stable.

YOu'll probably have to play around with the .exes to get it working if a steam copy, do a google search.
