Got a customer who are having no end of agro with Paperport the software that I believe was supplied with their Brother scanner, I don't know if it's the software or their dodgy Dell Vista laptops that's the problem but it's becoming an ever increasing occurrence that the software will just say that the scanner is not connected (yet a connection test via the scanners option in Control Panel sees it fine) and the only fix is to reinstall the software
Obviously asking them to scrap their Dell laptops is a big ask, and for us to downgrade them all to XP would cost them money for our time so I think first port of call is to suss out alternative pieces of software, 1 must is that there must be a scan to PDF option
So are there any free pieces of software out there? Again any paid for pieces of software at this point in time is a no no, looking for a free solution at the moment
