personally I would go for the canon 4400f @ sub £60 - cheaper, slightly slower and lower res than the really expensive models but otherwise basically the same as the bigger models
or the canon v600f @ around £80 - compact, takes up very little space and does a good job.
I have a preference for canon products, just seem more consistent in my eyes.
Although at that point there isnt a huge difference in any of them.
