It used to amaze me how people fall for this nonsense.

IIRC in the states they do have "cat litter", but it's in the emergency buckets they keep for when there is a school shooting, or lockdown so that kids can have some dignity in the store cupboard whilst the shooting is going on outside (the same people spreading the nonsense about kitty litter for furries are usually the ones that fight any sort of gun control and try to stop kids actually learning)..
