As title, don't mind paying for good stuff if it's better than the generic petrol station stuff.

There's not really anything special about screenwash, I just use the purple one from Halfords, around £4 for the 5 litres, works well and has a nice smell to it.

I'd agree with lemonade...unless you have a BMW, then I'd recommend using BMW's own screen wash.

I've lost count of how many times my washer jets got blocked on my E91 using any other screen wash than BMW OEM stuff. I now only use BMW's concentrate in the M135i and haven't had any problems so far. I bought a 20 litre container of concentrate for ~£50 from the dealer and it will make up to 200 litres of diluted, depending of course upon how diluted you make it.

I use the berry scented one from halfords, was on 2 for £5 or something a while ago so bought 2 containers of 5L concentrate. Will make me upto 100 liters, and for £5 can't really go wrong!

VAG screenwash is usually 2 litres for a fiver at Skoda, and it's the best stuff I've ever come across. It protects down to something faintly ridiculous like -60oC so even a capful will stop a British washer bottle from freezing, and it cleans brilliantly. It's fan jet safe too. It lasts forever and being so cheap is doubly good value. I love the stuff.

Another user of the VAG stuff here, smells like its toxic and certainly foams and cleans good.

I buy it by the case of 12 1L Bottles.

Prestone stuff from Costco. Cheap enough, and can be diluted hugely (summer recommendation is 19-1). Been using it all my cars for years now, including the last 37k in my 530d with no problems.

I always forget about screenwash so I just get whatever is available in whatever shop I'm in when I remember to actually buy some. Never had blocked jets in my e46.

But I'd say the main thing is less is more when mixing concentrate, especially in this year's "winter"!
