Not sure if this belongs more in Monitors or General Hardware... But I've managed to pick up a couple of VESA monitor mounts from a friend but I need to grab some screws. I'll get some Rawl plugs and decent size screws for the wall fixtures, but I'm not sure which screws to get to fix the monitor?

I've done some googling and some places say M4 screws while others say M6 or M8... I'm also a little unsure on the length to go for? Any help will be greatly appreciated - planning on heading over to B&Q later to pick them up.

It's not big at all. I'll do some googling on the monitors - one manual is in the work office (haven't been there for months..). Could probably dig out my other monitor manual.

Thanks!

Check the manual for your monitor. The screws are specific to the monitor, not the mount. And err on the side of shortness - don't get screws that are too long.

So I've looked at the manuals online, and both say M4x10mm screws. Looks like I'm sorted on that front.

Not sure what sort of screws to get the wall side though. Presumably quite strong/long screws with rawlplugs?

It depends on the weight of the monitor, and how far away from the wall it is mounted. The mount should specify what it needs to hold the heaviest monitor it can.
Problem is I don't have any docs, just got the mounts. I guess get the strongest hardware I can find :D

If in doubt get the parabolts out.

If the house falls down the monitor will still be hanging in there:D
To be honest, sounds like a good idea.. one of the monitors is a work monitor so it can't fall xD
