Not sure if this is the right section for this, however my question is what is the general opinion(s) and/or consensus of the best Firewall and virus software, am running PC with Windows XP.

Avast Antivirus (free), Ewido anti malware/spyware (free and pay) and Windows XP firewall. All you need.

ZoneAlarm I've heard mixed feelings about some say it can't be beaten, others say it's too anal in blocking stuff..any thoughts??

NOD32 & Sygate Firewall

NOD32 and a hardware firewall. If you don't have a hardware firewall, the SP2 one is good enough, tbh. As long as you keep patched up, there is no need for anything more fiddly.
