I'm debating giving my kids PC's internet access, problem is their PC's are in their bedrooms so if we did I'd obviously be concerned about the normal things that would concern any parent.
Therefore I'm looking for a set of software I can use to reduce to an acceptable level the risks. You guys may end up in fact saying don't do it but I'd like to at least examine the possibility.
Obviously the OS would be setup with them as a low level user so they can't install anything.
On top of that I'm thinking :-
no MSN ( if they want to talk to friends use the PC's downstairs )
no IRC (Ditto)
AV
Firewall
net nanny type software.
Anything else you'd suggest?
This would be running probably on windows 2000 (as I have spare 2K licences and out of XP ones)
