Best set up for £650

Afternoon, just looking to do an upgrade on CPU, GPU and MOBO. What would you guys recommend for £650. Just using the rig for gaming primarily and that's pretty much it. Got the rest squared away so just looking for those 3 components.

Threepwood I don't need an SSD I already have 2. I'm strictly CPU, GPU and MOBO.

Graphics-wise, the budget would cover a GTX 780Ti. However, the GTX 970 is neck and neck with it anyway so it's not really worth £100 more. The GTX 980 doesn't come in under budget.

So essentially, I'd be looking at improving CPU or motherboard. If it was me, I'd just get the i7-4790K, or save the £100.

I've been looking at the i5-4690K and Asus Maximus VII Ranger coupled with a 780ti. How do you think that stacks up against the others?

970 > 780ti, as the 970 is new and very close performance wise + saving you £100.
