Best settings for router - is there software for it?

As title really.

Is there any software that I can run on my router/client laptop that will automatically tell me what the best settings for my router are? Channels/interference etc...?

Sorry I don't know of any, but you could try this in CMD prompt and make an educated guess as to the best channel.

start->run->cmd

netsh
wlan show networks mode=bssid

How do I interpret the results?....I can clearly see there is another router using exactly the same channel(s) as me, but there seems to be routers spanned across all the channels.

Also, whilst I'm here....if I get some bigger antennas for the router, is it likely to boast my signal and speed even though the equipment in the clients hasn't changed....or is it not worth it.

Cool....so does getting those large antenna help with signal then?
