i am editing some 720p video from a gopro camera using Sony Vegas movie studio HD platinum 10

Now i understand that when you render the video you use quality from the compression, but it looks ok but I would like to get it looking better! as it just looks a bit cloudy

here are some screenshots of the settings i use and was hoping if anyone could offer me any advice to get it looking clearer

Thank you

It all depends on what you intend to do with it once it's finished.

If you are just storing it, might as well try and keep it as uncompressed as possible. If you are uploading it to the web, then that's a different story.

Sorry i should have stated, i will be uploading to youtube, just want it looking as sharp and as clear, as close to the raw video straight of the gopro...

Thanks

Is your footage NTSC?

Pixel Aspect Ratio should be 1 and not 1.33.

1.33 is 960x720 or 1440x1080.

Also try to export to H264 for YouTube

I dont know if it is NTSC or PAL as i never set the camera up

And thanks for the tips :) i will report back

It's a GoPro so presumably you were using it in the 960p mode?

YouTube actually have some good documents on what settings to use for uploads on the website. I'd also check out the GoPro forums for tips.

Well i finished the video thanks for your help guys its here if you want to see it...
its not amazing but its good enough :)

you nearly lost that camera a few times!

was you using the suction mount? cos if so it just proves how strong it is
