Hey guys,
I have a HD projector which I currently use for watchin movies, tele, gaming etc.. I want to be able to move my projector into the living room from time to time to watch a film or 2 (divx/xvid) and dont wish to lug my PC through each time in order to do so.
Soo.. Whats the best option to go for, I was thinking of getting a cheap DVD divx player but my mate who also has a projector said the quality is not as good as when he connects the projector up to his pc and watches the film that way. So can anyone recommend me a good option that isnt too expensive and wont see a loss in quality over my pc?
Cheers

Depends what you define as expensive, the best option is a network streaming player like the Snazio at around £230.

Hgih definition projector = high definition films, I wouldn't waste my precious bulb life on divx!

Well yes hd films would be ideal but until they become more main stream and I have divx to play then they are *** i will be using, along with dvds :) I will l look intgo the snazio cheers

You could just get a long cable to run under the carpet or w/e so you can connect it to the computer directly and get a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse so it reaches all the way unless its that far away.

I already have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse but I would probably need a 15 metre DVI cable :o Is that even possible! And then what about sound, turn the stereo in the other room up a few more levels :)

You can't actually play that disc in the UK without a proxy server for the DRM checking.

In truth there's really nothing worth buying all the good stuff comes from illegal downloads taken from US broadcasts.

Gladiator BEV release and the CSI episodes are very good picture quality so I've been told ;)

I know that but who wants lossy compressed video on a projector, the difference between the original high def rip and divx is noticable.

I cant notice the difference, hd original rip also uses lossy compression anyway.

There definitely is a difference, I've seen comparison pictures and watched them - the difference isn't huge but if you want the absoloute best then its ts all the way.

Transport streams are as uncompressed as you can get at consumer level.
