Best sim only deal that uses Orange network

Hi

I've changed jobs fairly recently and although my existing network, Vodafone, gets only very slow internet and no reception at all in several parts of the building, they have an Orange mast on the roof so full speed internet is available.

So, I'm going over to Orange (or a company that uses their network), but can someone please recommend the best current sim only deal that uses Orange's network?

(I'm sticking with my Desire HD for the moment, and may look at getting a second hand upgrade in six months.)

Edit - sorry, more detail...I only need 300 mins and 500MB data. 12 months would be ok but rolling contract would be preferred. However price is the key factor.

T-Mobile to see seem to have the best value and piggy back off the orange network.

300 mins
5000 texts
750mb data

£13p/m or £20.50 on a 30 rolling contract.

this is the exact plan I just got but with a 12 month contract also with the 750mb internet I think you get BT wifi hotspots.

*Also you get 500 t-mobile minutes to any other t-mobile network

I'm sure I've seen member here saying about forcing the phone to connect to t-Mobile orange to improve data speeds.

Maybe its changed, or there's a workaround. However when the networks merged T-Mobiles users couldn't use Orange 3G

While the current deal doesn't include 2.5G or 3G data, T-Mobile says that you might be able to get basic access to some Internet services, although you'll find it very slow. Having unsuccessfully tried to use 2G in the past to send something as simple as a Twitter update, we'd suggest that, if you're looking for good data coverage, the networking-sharing scheme may not prove very beneficial.

Cheers all. The Orange Panther 600m deal looks good. Works out at £10.25 per month over 12 months and after cashback etc. (I following the cashback schedule religiously as I put reminders in my phone :p).

Not clear on the T-mobile / Orange data thing so I might just stick to Orange.

Can confirm it's merged as an ex employee of orange but it's worth noting it will ALWAYS prefer the home network unless the signal degrades massively (we are talking really low) so check that t-m has 3G there too just before you put all your eggs in this basket.

You can manually override that's true but it will revert back on mast change most times unless you specifically program your phone not to. It will also vary phone by phone.

If you have any services with Virgin Media then check out their existing customer only deals as they have some great sim only offers and use orange /tmobile

Really? I ask because I had great T-Mobile signal at my house and after the changeover my phone is on TMO-ORANGE a lot of the time now.

Depends on the version of the SIM software as to what it will do (and the phone to some extent) but for the majority of people, it will still prefer home. They had some SIM builds with no network preference when I left but I never saw it pushed to my particular handset or my wifes, it could be that it's on certain models now come to think of it.
