Hi all,

Looking for an easy to apply, easy to rub off, wax for a black car (in case colour makes a difference).

Paintwork is in very good condition, so looking to protect it, and make it shine.

Any recommendations?

do you have a pressure washer with a snow foam lance? I've started using Autoglym Polar Seal, it's absolutely excellent and so easy to apply.

Maybe something a little harder than that then maybe, quite an outlay involved there. Gives a good shine?

Thank you for the suggestion though.

For a more traditional paste type wax, Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax is hard to beat for ease of use but you'll really want a finishing polish/glaze first to enhance the shine.

If you want something that'll do a bit of a polish and wax all at once, AutoFinesse Tripple might be more up your street.

meguiars quik detailer is very good and quick.

Thank you, I'll take a look.

I know it probably sounds lazy asking for an easy to use wax, but health gives me limited ability. Thank you, another I'll take a look at

Autoglym aquawax is probably the easiest.

You can get a big tub of it quite cheap on ebay. It's called "express wax" for the trade version.

+1 for this. It's probably not as durable as a lot of waxes, but being able to apply it to easily, it's fine if you can wash the car once a month or so. It really is just spray on and rinse off.

As mentioned already, Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax. Very cost effective and easy on/off.

Also consider Collinite. Lovely product but it will give you a hell of a workout if you put too much on!

If you prefer a spray wax and want to spend a little more then I highly recommend Polish Angel (Available at Ultimate Finish in the UK) they do versions for different colours but even their Rapidwaxx is superb. Something like 'Gold Zircon' would go nice on black paint with it's 'gold carnauba flake' that helps give a unique look to the metalic flake in your paint.

This one?

Yeha you can use that but I find it takes too long, I used it and it is good and if you have the time... I mean this one which is the liquid form of that one... just faster to apply and polish off really, but yes both of these are quality. I really rate them!

Colinite 476s. You will need nothing else forget all the marketing mumbo jumbo so prevalent with car detailing. Easy on, easy off, no bumble gum fragrance or other nonsense, just a proper good product thats durable and will last you years and years.

Collinite 476s is a real enthusiasts wax, no added gimmicks just a hard working and durable wax. This wax stands up to rain, snow, salt, dust and grime so is perfect for a winter wax when you need that extra protection. Collinite 476s also protects against UV so good for the summer months too. In fact Collinite claim you can get up to 12 months protection from 476s.

With all that durability you might wonder if you miss out on shine, well actually no. Collinite 476s adds a real deep gloss to solid colours and makes metallic flakes come to life.

Collinite 476s is a carnauba based paste wax with no cleaners. When you come to applying Collinite 476s use a foam wax applicator pad, allow to cure before buffing off with a microfibre towel, for best results apply in multiple thin layers.
