Best site for music purchases

I know of the russian site but between sites like HMV who is the best to go for?

HMV has £15 a month for unlimited downloads

what other options are there and who has the best deals

i need to be able to transfer the tracks to my creative jukebox mp3 player as well

I would stick with the Russian site.

The HMV one and others arn't as good as you can only access the music while you subscribe then your left with nothing.
 
aren't the russians ones illegal?

i was also wonderring where would be best for legal music downloads as i don't fancy getting a letter through my door telling me i'm being sued. although i read something recently that said they wouldn't be suing individual downloaders i also remember froma few years ago about some 12yr old girls mother being sued for 2k.

e-music is appealing because they don't have any encryption but i read that they didn't really have any new stuff so i went for i-tunes, thinkin since they are the most well known they would be semi-decent. what i downloaded weren't even mp3s though so i had to burn a disc and then rip that before i could play my new album on the bus into work. (Couldn't be bothered figurring out a what program to use to decrypt)

anyone here use e-music? are there any hidden gems out there in terms of services that offer legal contemperary music downloads? cheers
 
others i have found are napster, hmv, virgin and possibly spiral frog when it opens

just wanted others opinions on which they think is the best from experience through using them
