Best slim bezel 3 screen eyefinity setup? 1080p or 1440p?

Hi guys, I've had an eyefinity setup before but with TN panels and only 60Hz screens. I've sold them and want a better setup.

To power them I'll have 3x Sapphire Tri-x OC R9 290's in triple crossfire.

I want 27" screens
Slim bezel is a must for me.
Ideally I'd like IPS over TN as want better quality picture
ideally I want 120Hz as i should be getting over 80fps on most games.

What would you recommend? I'm currently looking at three Asus MX279H screens..

I've looked at 2550x1440 resolution screens but they all seem to have fat bezels so no good for eyefinity..

Can you suggest any better alternatives to the 279H? Hopefully with higher refresh rate as these are only 75Hz.

James.

27" @ 1080p is not good imho, certainly not on a desk.

Personally I would have waited a few months as there's lots happening on the monitor scene.

hi thanks for the reply.. i've already waited 6 months with no monitors and just want my pc working again so i dont want to wait any more :(

I was also looking at Three 1440p monitors to use for eyeFinity instead of three 1080p ones....I'm a bit concerned about the bezel on them but i might be able to adjust..

What are your thoughts on these two?

What would be best out of IPS/VA/PLS panels for gaming? I've done some searching online but would like someones opinion who has one of these type displays as i'm just used to TN panels

I'm personally waiting to see what happens with some of the upcoming 34" 21:9 ultra-wide monitors as I'd rather have one large monitor than 3 smaller ones to be honest.

yeah i see what you mean but i would want 40" 4k if had one big one and cant afford that lol.

i think i've been talked into 1440p though now though instead of 1080p... i'm unsure between the AHVA panel in acer though and PLS panel in samsung...

I mainly like racing games and devil may cry type games... i'm a bit worried i will get ghosting or blur on one of the above two monitors :-(

You can currently get a 34" 21:9 monitor for slightly less than it would cost you to buy 3 27" monitors.

Or if you can push your budget to £900 there are curved variants available too :-

I still reckon you'd be better with one of these than 3 16:9 monitors but each to their own!
