I'm looking for a small, tough and fast laptop; something like a Fly Book or a Toshiba Portege, but i can't decide on the right one.

I don't have a budget so to speak, but if i can avoid paying out thousands of pounds that would be great.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ben

Well unless you're going for an UMPC I wouldn't bother looking under 12" (without paying a LOT of money that is)

I got a Toshiba Satellite U220-115 for about £640
C2D T550
1GB RAM 533mhz
80GB HDD
12" WXGA TFT
W-LAN (A/G)
XP-PRO
Finger print scanner

And I'm quite happy with it, and despite people's usual dislike for it I got it from the men in purple shirts, but I got the last one in stock in the midlands at the time or so I was told lol.

Have a look around I'm sure you'll be able to find a small laptop with reasonable specs without paying too much.

And for reference of small my laptop is about as big as a sheet of A4 paper (disregarding thickness of course)

thanks, I'll check it out.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T61 also caught my eye, its not incredibly small but it seems tough and has pretty good specs.
