Im coming to upgrade time, and would like to get a smart phone.

Id like it to have WM 5.0 pref, WiFi, Bluetooth. Im not fussed about 3G tbh.

Im currently on o2 at the moment, while the xda range is nice, they dont have the one I want. The other advtange to staying on o2 is the free GPRS when using hte phone as a modem.

I dont want t-mobile since there t&cs prohibt the use of a phone as a modem

So any suggestions welcomed

There are two options, XDA Exec or XDA mini S. Whats the XDA that you want, that they dont have? I dont think O2 gprs is free anymore since the 1ST May. The only other htc phone (thats who makes the XDA range) is the i-mate JAMin aka Orange M600, Qtec S200. That has WiFi, and all the other things you wanted.

o2 are releasing the o2 XDA IQ soon. Check on xda.o2.co.uk for detials of the phone.

It's the same as the i-mate SP5, which has been out for the last year.

Hmm I was recently got my bill in and was not charged for GPRS usage after the 1st May :)

Don't quote me on this but I am 90% sure that gprs is billed a month behind. If I was you I would call them.

How come you're not fussed about 3G? Wouldn't the high data rates make the Internet access much better on the device?

Foir the most part net access is mostly used for email and some text based websites, 3G would not really benefit me that much in that respect. Perhaps in a years time where it has finally caught on, however phones that can use the EDGE system that is surfacing now would be better than 3G due to its higher speed.

You have that around the wrong way, 3G is faster than EDGE (bitrates and latency). What do you mean by 'catching on'? The Internet is there already, as are the networks and handsets. No advantage in waiting until other people are using it is there?

With a high res screen, a half decent web browser and a 300kbps connection you wouldn't just be limited to email and some text based websites.
