Best smart TV platform

I'm in the market for a new TV and I'd prefer not to have any other "boxes" so am looking for a smart tv.

The thing that has annoyed me about smart TVs in the past is that the interface is slow and apps are slow to open so I want one that is quick.

Any recommendations on TVs? I don't need 4K or 3D and between 40 and 50 inches in size.
 
See I have a couple of Samsungs at the moment and although they are old, I worry that the new ones will be just as bad. It takes about 1 minute to get from standby to an app...

I have taken a look myself and I quite like the look of web os 2.0 by LG, but how do I find out if it has a fast enough CPU in there to not be sluggish, it doesn't appear to be listed on most websites?
