Hi, Im after a socket A cooler for my old (and very noisy) athlon xp 3200+

it doesnt have to have monster cooling performance (the better the better!), as its not going to be overclocked at all. I do need it to be quiet though.

its just my second machine for mates to jam on if we do LAN but musnt neglect it now !!

anyway, suggestions ?

Thanks

Back in the day, everyone raved about the Alpha Pal 8045 heatsink for excellent cooling on socket A, matched with a <20db fan for silence. I am talking back when the fastest socket A was the Tbird 1.4 though.

If you can find one, the Thermalright SI-97 was a pretty good heatsink. I had one cooling an overclocked 2500+ @2.3ghz. You can use either an 80mm or 92mm fan with it.

I used to use a ThermalRight ALX-800. Decided on that heatsink after reading reviews and it was coming out on top most of the time.
