Best Socket A Motherboard

Possibly the NF7-S V2.0, the AN7 after was a poor overclocker and had some issues, dunno if they ever sorted those out as i stuck with NF-7s in my builds. The DFI lanparty boards had mad options too are were prolly just as good.

They sorted out the AN7 problems with the second revision. The later AN7s could clock as high as the NF7-S v2.0, especially with a Tic-Tac BIOS.

Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0
Abit AN7 (later versions)
DFI Nforce2 Infinity
DFI LanParty Ultra-B

The Abit had better VCore than the DFI, but the DFIs had better Vdimm and clocked to higher FSBs out of the box.

I still got 2 NF7S Mobos

One running an XP17 @ 2.7, the other an XP25 @ 2.6 Both rock solid, if a tad warm

I no longer have a DFI Socket A, however, I would say the NF2 Infinity has to have been the Major contender for first place.

I still have my Abits but not the DFI... Thats says enough to me.

Unless you are going extremely high and are looking at better than Water cooling, there isnt really all that much in them in spite of what you may read.

NF7-S is probably the best however I used an Asus A7N8X-X and that was still very good, stable and decent overclocking features.
