I was just wondering what people see as the best software for converting .mpeg and .avi files to dvd image files are? I've tried using Nero Vision (Part of Nero 7) and whilst its nice and simple to use by the end of the program the lip sync is often seconds out.

For decent quality and 1 click conversion i'd recommend WINAVI

for a more precise and professional approach i'd say TMPEG Enc

DVD decryptor to rib the vob files, then encode these into whatever you want :)

i quite like the latest divx converter (official)

He's trying to do the opposite of that... ;)

I use svcd2dvd.

It's all about personal opinion. WinAvi, DvdSanta, ConvertXtoDvd and SVCD2Dvd are all quick, easy and reliable. If you ran a poll I would say WinAvi would come out on top but, it's not free. TMPGEnc with TMPGEnc Dvd Author gives you more options but takes longer.

Like I said, it's down to personal preference. I have used all the above in my time but prefer WinAvi for speed and ease of use.
