Best software for fan speed?

If I want to tweak my fan speed, what's the best software to use?

Most recommend speedfan, though it depends what motherboard you have and what software comes bundled with it. For example my Asus board comes with a program called 'Fan-Expert' which I really like.

I have an Asus Sabertooth 990FX and it comes with software that lets me monitor the fan speed but not alter it.

Would you still recommend speedfan or might Fan-Expert be compatible for me?

I cant even monitor my cpu fan speeds. I just use the controllers on the cpu which is irratating

I had a look on the asus download page for the 990FX saber, it doesn't list fan-expert in the utilities, so I'd guess that its not compatible with your board.

Give speedfan a whirl and see what you think, there are other alternatives, but most depend on your chipset (ntune for one).
