Not sure if correct area but looking for something that spans Windows and Android, something for organisation.

Or is it organisation, my head in general is flying with stuff, ideas, things I want to do, things I'm working on, and I can't keep track of it, sometimes it's a simple as a video or random link, of course all apps have something to save things like watcher later in YouTube.

I have Samsung notes, Google keep etc..

Just wondering if there is some way or software to unify it, or am I just looking for the best "note" app?

I want something I can't fully explain but perhaps someone knows what I mean and had the answer?

I haven't really settled on what works for me with similar requirements, but as a starting point would suggest looking at Obsidian. The personal knowledgebase/2nd brain is a bit of a rabbit hole though, for me the problem is habit to actually use rather than the perfect platform!

If you’re serious about it, Obsidian is really good. I like it mostly because the files are just markdown and thus super portable if I ever want to change to something else, or the software is deprecated etc. It’s just simple, or can be extended and made more complex if you wish with more advanced features. You can pay for cloud sync I think or just host it somewhere yourself or even push it to GitHub.

I started trying out Obsidian.

What's Notion and how does it differ?

I feel like Obsidian is a rabbit hole and I do want to use it, I'm syncing with my laptop using one drive.

It's great, lots and LOTS of features. I'm kind of wanting it to do a lot of things like store code, quick code ideas etc..

It does support VBA language as well in a vba tag as well.

I am overwhelmed, I want AI text generation in it.

I've got a folder solely for Obsidian as there is so many different subjects in it.

As far as I know you can format a page like HTML as well and it rendered it? The cavas looked interesting too, boy there is a lot of stuff!

@IanAG you're not wrong!

For this, start an Excel spreadsheet with two columns. Col 1 is date, and col 2 is note. This is just for short notes. Any time you get an idea, just stick it in this spreadsheet.

The same can be done with a notepad or Word file. Any note you need to make, just stick it straight in at the top of the file, and separate it with a line of -- to show the break between notes.

You will then have a log of what is going through your mind, and you can simply scroll back through it to see what you were doing.

There might be a place for fancier software for some things, but this simple technique will by itself make a big difference.

I have a weekly repeating entry at 8am to 9am in my calendar.
I keep my to do list in it and it’s available across all my devices.
