What software would you recommend to thoroughly test your system?

For example: - CPU speed test, Graphics test, memory test, Hard drive test, DVD test & temps.

Will 3D Marks actually test all 4 cores of a quad core processor & tell you what speed each core is running at or does it just give you a score?
