Hi all,
I've got the following:
Apple iPhone 4 (IOS5)
Microserver with 80GB of music on it
Good enough internet connection to stream it
No 3G limit on my phone
I am currently using something called Orb Live to steam music from Orb caster to my iPhone.
This works very well on WIFI (although there is a large pause between tracks) and equally well on 3G. BUT on my journey to work there is a period of about 1 minute where I have no signal.
On things like Spotify it has buffered enough of the song for me not to get any disruption, but on Orb the moment the signal goes the playback stops.
Then it's a massive faff to get it to play again when the signal returns. I more often than not have to quit the app completely and re-load it. Which when driving is dangerous (unless I pull over) and a huge pain.
Basically I'm looking for a solution that does the same thing, but buffers the tracks whilst the signal is there so that when the signal drop I don't have a break in playback.
Is there anything around that will elimitate this issue.
Thanks,
G
