Hi all, I have an epic music collection (1.2TB) but its come from years and years of ripping CD's etc across loads of different software, so I have an all over the place music collection, tag and file name wise, however everything IS in the correct 'Artist name' folder.......

What software is best that can scan the whole lot, fetch the correct info for each album (as best it can), download the cover art and auto rename the files etc........

I have tried media monkey but it doesn't work, just hangs when I tell it to fetch album art for everything, then it gave me a window asking to check each album - no way there is around 20000.

I am also not bothered if it can only find say 70% of the correct details and deletes the rest - that's fine with me as long as the remainder are correct as best as can be.

Fully automatic as well, don't want to sit there waiting for me to approve every album (I know there will be some errors but thats ok I can change them manually as I chance upon them)

MusicBrainz Picard might do the trick.

I would be wary using this.

I used it for my music collection - 40GB ish and it tagged a small amount of the songs incorrectly.

I have been changing these as I find them but even now, years later, some of my music is still incorrectly tagged!
