Best sound best price in a tight space

Hi all,

My spec is in my signature, I have an ATX z77 dsh motherboard and I used to have a ROG Phoebus sound card which I was really happy with, I particularly like the dolby 3d cinema sound that came with it.

The problem is when I got my R9 290 vapor x sound card there was only a tiny space between then and it was pushing up my temps so I had to sell the card.

Are there any alternatives that are a good price and dont involve using the PCI slot as I dont have another PCI slot to put a card in and I dont want to have the card close up to the GPU.

I use an X7 as I didn't want a sound card sandwiched between 2 GPUs. A great piece of kit, very happy with it.

Does it have 3d sound and a good set up for headphones. Whats the software like

He's referring to the Creative Soundblaster X7. There's a thread on it here
