**Best soundcard for music editing??

I want to build a computer for music recording / editing what would be the best soundcard to get

im not interested in cpu / ram since i have recently upgraded - just soundcard please!!!

i am looking for a card that has multiple inputs

i havent really got a buget so..... the best money can buy!!!
 
M-Audio Delta 1010 is the standard home-recording card if you want plenty of ins and outs and have the cash.

The 1010LT is also excellent if you don't care about balanced inputs.

M-Audio do a whole range of stuff from the 1010, down through the Delta66 and Audiophile192 and Audiophile2496.

Other options include nice MOTU interfaces like this:

...and also EMU cards, which are meant to be good.

It all depends on what you're doing. Are you recording full bands, just one or two tracks at a time, just making music on the computer, etc etc?

The software your using can also be a factor. It's especially important that your chosen hardware has good ASIO support of your using Steinberg products for instance.
