Looking at the Bose dock for £199 but is it just the name Im paying for? Listened to it in a high street store and I have to admit it sounded good. But for the best part of 200 sheets is there a better one for my money?

Thanks, Mark

AFAIK the pin-out for the dock connector includes an unamplified line-out, so I'm sure it is.

Sorry Mark - it's customary to recommend over budget things on the web ;)

I remember watching some web test on this subject somewhere, The B&W Came top, followed by the Harman/Kardon Go+Play, I think.

A Krell KID with a pair of Martin Logan Purity electrostatic hybrid speakers ;)

is the sound quality of ipods even good enough to take advantage of such speakers?

If your playing low bitrate or badly ripped MP3's, no. Apple lossless stuff should sound great though, shame they chose a proprietary format and not FLAC or something similar

I heard one of these at Last years Bristol 'What Hi-Fi' show... it sounded awesome!... The Speakers shift some air!.. I don't remember the make on the front of them, but they're made especially for Fat-Man!..

I spoke to the guy who owns the company and he let me plug my own iPod into it so I could hear some of my own 'Chewens'!... Wish I had the reddies on me at the show as he was gonna give me a discount!!...

Going again this year (February) and hopefully I'll see him again!.. I've the Dosh waiting!!..
