Hi,

After playing 3 player Goldeneye 64 for 3 hours straight yesterday afternoon it's got me in the mood for some more local multiplayer. There must be some decent PC games, but I don't really know any?

Only ones I can think of are Serious Sam :P

there are unofficial ways to get left for dead on split screen, a google search will tell you how.
Dungeon defenders natively supports up to 4 player split screen.
castle crashers is 4 players all on one screen.
trine 1 & 2 (one screen)
portal 2 (split screen)

Serious Sam was my first thought. Used to play it with my sister with me using arrow keys plus mouse and her using WASD and UHJK (To this day I have no idea how she managed this :D)

Other than that the only other one I can think of I've tried is Trine.

Would recommend Gauntlet - it's great and allows 4 player local (single screen)
Sonic all stars racing transformed also 4-player split screen (not as good as mario kart though)
Dustforce is great, and allows 4-player local multi (I've never played anything other than single player, though)

Gauntlet: 1-4 local - 1 screen and is a great blast with mates.
Castle Crashers: 1-4 Local - Although destroyed my fingers and wrists lol.
Trine 2: However only 3 players but a very pretty game with puzzles and quite long if i remember rightly to complete!
Forced: 1-4 local - single screen and a frickin solid game!

Like the OP, always on the look out for decent local co-op games, my recommendations are the following:

Monaco. When I first purchased I thought the graphics were weird, however, it works very well - a brilliant game.

Trine 1 & 2. Absolutely brilliant, easily rival Super Mario Bros on the Wii for the best co-op platform game. I was gutted when the developers Frozenbyte moved away from Trine and developed an IOS game 'Splot' which (I hope I am wrong) looks like it tanked. A real shame, I hope they produce a third installment.

Apparently Project Zomboid has local Co-op, however I could not get it to work, I imagine it would be good fun!
