Best 'standard' 5870?

I am ordering one for a new build this weekend. Rig building on Sunday.

My current card is a HIS 5770 and I am a bit of a brand loyal nub sometimes, so was looking at getting another one, though they are a tad more pricey than your bog standard Sapphire / Powercolour etc one.

But, all the standard ones are pretty much identical aren't they?

They all seem to offer a 2 year warranty so why should I buy anything more than the cheapest one?

I have seen a nice little deal at a local shop for the standard XFX one, but the price difference is minimal to be fair.

Free Saturday shipping this weekend has got me thinking though. :D

What one, in stock is the best? Or does it make no difference at all?

Cheers. :)

Asus have a 3 year warranty and don't mind if you overclock their cards, apparently.

I have an XFX one and its been great :)

Cheers Dave

Well I was going to get the XXX OC'd XFX one but they could not get me one in time when they said they could. Kind of left me a tad annoyed but after some more though I don;t want an OC's one as I can do a little tweaking myself as I have done on my 5770.

Funny you mention ASUS, as I am getting a Asus Crosshair 4 mobo so was thinking it might be good to have them the same make.

Still undecided.

And why are there two HIS 'standard' ones?

Hmm finger is on the trigger.............

Stick with the XFX? (£278.76 plus VAT @ local shop)
Asus? £275.74 plus VAT
HIS? £278.29 plus VAT

Get the Asus* and it doesn't matter technically that it's the same make or not as the mobo.

*And hope that it's not the V2 design.

Well I am going to stick with the XFX. Build day Sunday.

One of these babies, Phenom 965 x 4, Crosshair 4, Coolermaster Dominator 2, SSD, some other bits. Might take some photos.

Why would you buy this over the Asus, which has a 3 year warranty + voltage tweak tech for overclocking?

Well it is mainly because I left it too late to order it from here in time for delivery tomorrow. :(

The choice now is the XFX, standard Sapphire or the good Vapour x model, which I believe is overclockable.
