Best steps to wipe for selling?

Hey guys,

I always hate updating /. erasing and all that jazz when it comes to my Apple products.

Can someone quarter-back me on how to erase the iphone before sale? I have everything setup on my new iphone, but I havent touched the 13 pro max yet, I want the buyer to see it working then will plan to wipe after that.

There’s a new way you can do it now.

Settings>General>Reset.

This will remove everything including your Apple ID all in one go.

I doubt it, it’s encrypted prior to the erase. Without a way of decrypting the data it’s virtually impossible.

When you reset an iPhone it just destroys the encryption key, there’s no need for it to actually delete any data as without the key the data is useless.
