Which isn't one of the mega bucks G-sync jobbies?

Can't justify the cost really of either the Acer or Asus beasts, so what's the best alternative, cheaper of the superwide bunch?
 
From various forums and reviews I'd say Dell seem to have one of the most accurate colors just like both g-sync megabucks monitors but there has been reports of much worse back light bleed by many users. I think Acer FreeSync may be better option even if you have NVidia card and would be my 2nd choice after Samsung if you really don't want to pay anything extra for G-Sync.
 
I would love to drop the money on the Asus, but I just don't do enough gaming to justify it, I have the money but I just can't pull the trigger on something that isn't a priority item at the minute.

Put another way, I want perhaps 80-90% of the Asus/X34 experience at half the cost due to how much it will be used.
 
I have the AOC flat 34" superwide. Curved displays bug me (notice mild fisheye effect on them all and Tv's). It's took me a month to get used to the extra width, mainly in desktop use but in gaming even though you focus on the centre the extra peripheral width looks amazing (assuming you have the gpu to power it correctly). I've been extremely fortunate that my ips has zero backlight bleed and imho one of the best ips screens I've ever seen (virtually no ips glow[took a few weeks for the glow it did have to diminish] and no defects I've seen present on many other monitors. I believed VA was best suited to me but there is no denying the 'pop' of the ips colour range, mine is quite stunning.

No advice as to what will suit you but from what I've seen and heard many ultrawides have varying issues. Good luck.

The iiyama seems promising, I like that its 75hz. Anyone know what their customer service is like?
 
I asked that on another threat. it's potentially the best, but it sounded like no one has needed it in years! Gibbo was going to ask iiyama if it's freesync as it looks like the hardware will support refresh rates from 'low' to 75hz. whether that's variable or static is currently unanswered :(
