Just a quick question to see what the forumites prefer....

It does not look like my old favourite Realtemp has been updated for ages!... And coretemp doesn't look much better.... Will either of these give me reasonably accurate temps on my Maximus V mobo.... I don't want to resort to the Asus bloatware AI suite for monitoring....

Thanks

Well as all temp monitoring software are looking at the same sensors on your CPU, I don't think it matters which one you use. Core Temp and Real Temp work just fine.

Do both still work despite any recent updates to reflect recent CPUs & chipsets?

I use Hwmonitor and RealTemp. Hwmonitor is always off by a few degrees for my chip but it does have voltages and gpu stats.

The maximums V sensors work great; I actually use intel extreme utility to measure my temperatures a lot of the time, and it works well with HWMonitor.

The only issues to watch out for is when using AMD chips sometimes the programs have not been updated to monitor the new trinity processors or FX processors correctly.
