Basically Ive had a few driving lessons and my driving instructor said that its best to book my theory and get it over and done with.

I was just wondering what the best theory test book was? the official dsa one?

thanks

You can get the CD's you use on your computer. They are the best as you can practice your hazard perception also :)

You'll want the PC software. If you haven't practised the Hazard Perception part before the actual test it'll probably throw you completely. The book is useful to have too as it's the entire highway code + questions in your hand.

Have any of your friends passed their theory test that could give you a lend of the book/software? I lent my bundle to a couple of people when I was done.
Bear in mind that the test changed a bit in September(?) though, so you might want the up-to-date package.

I used the software above and found it very similar to the real deal when it came down to it. Though if you like to learn through a book, it's worth having a printed copy of the highway code to browse through as well as the DVD. Personal choice though.

I just did my motorbike theory, slightly different questions and same hazard perception. I used the official DSA book, read it cover to cover in about 4 hours the night before and marked the ones I didn't know (about 5%) then just read over those on the tube to the test centre. Managed a fairly decent 49/50 so slightly annoyed I didn't ace it. The DSA book contains every question you can be asked and exactly the same answer stems so it's essentially a cheat book but you have to shell out £10 for it.
As for hazard perception, 15 years of riding shotgun in a car is all the preparation I needed. Read up a little about the test and every time you're a passanger in a car, just do a hazard perception then. If you check out the AA website, somewhere on it are 10 practice clips of hazard perception pretty much exactly the same format as the test.
Did also manage to find a question that they had got wrong in the question book :D /smug

thats what i used and passed first time :D on the hazard perception test u can just keep clicking every 2 secs and u will always pass anyway.

Utter tosh, if you click at regular intervals you will get a fail for that session. The easiest way is to actually do it properly and don't be a total cretin like you.

If you can't pass it first after using CD's you probably don't deserve to be on the road.

Click the horse
Click the bike
Click the guy braking near a left turn with no indicators
Click all the BMWs

Yea, my son used the "Driving Test Success" DVD for the PC, 2 days revision and passed.. has all the theory tests and hazzard preception on, plus aload more of extra stuff. Was only like £5.

are the hazard perception vids on this CD the exact same as the ones in the proper hazard perception test?

also how many hazards can appear in one video? just the 1 or more? and how many hazard perception videos do you have to watch in the proper test?

thanks!
