Am about to install the Gelid Icy Vision cooler to my HD7950, i have MX-2, MX-3, Thermalright CF2 and Arclie Silver 5. Whats supposed to be the best?

For a gpu id also go with mx2, on cpu's the best ive used is liquid pro/ultra. But not reccomended for gpu's.

Mx4

Liquid pro won't work on gpu's,its too thin and temps run very high, already tried it,currently have mx4 on mine

Mayonnaise or perhaps toothpaste, as it smells better :) I've always used AC Céramique, since the days of the NV 6800. Force of habit more than anything I guess

OK will do, was MX-3 rubbish then?. Whats the recommended thermal paste to use these days anyways?

MX-3 wasn't rubbish at all. It's better than MX-2 and the newer MX-4. However, Thermalright's CF2/3 are better so I'd go for the CF2 you already have. Gelid's GC-Extreme isn't as good as the MX-3 and the CF2.

Hi again, tried all three MX2/3/4, MX3 very good but did not spread very well hence MX4.

That doesn't really matter though, you can just let the cooler spread the paste and it will do a better job than manually doing it. Plus the OP already has a range of pastes, there's not much point in telling him to buy yet another tube of something that's no better than what he already has :p.
