Best thermal paste??

building a x99 machine very soon and going to transfer my h80i over for the time being just wanted to know whats the best paste to use ? atm my h80 is using the orig corsair paste

I've used the Gelid GC Extreme from the Stulid's review and it is really nice to use, spreads well and gets good temps.

+1 - good stuff the Gelid extreme, no complaints here. Although I am going to try some NH1 soon as comparison.

to be perfectly honest... TIM doesn't make a "massive" amount of difference, maybe 2-3C

The the best analogy I can make for spending silly money on thermal paste ie >£5 is like asking would it be better to use mineral water in a car rather than tap water.

Answer - probably. But why bother.
