Best thing to use to keep a button pressed down on keyboard?

I need to find something suitable to hold down a button on my keyboard overnight and nothing I've tried works.

Any ideas?

Take the key in question out with a flat screwdriver then ram blutac into the hole?

Just one button? It might depend slightly on the location but surely you can rig up some sort of Heath Robinson contraption to keep a button pressed down - small pen, a couple of heavy books and sellotape ought to do it.

could use AutoIt macro - that has a key down / key up thing. software tho.

AutoIT seems the best bet. I'd usually take the key out and stick some blu tac there but as it's a laptop, I don't fancy ruining the keys.

Will a pound coin do it? Laptop keys are pretty soft to press usually.
