I've started posting my street photography to IG in the last few days but it's difficult getting visibility. Apart from a couple of likes here and there, there's no comments yet. I'm being pretty selective in choosing the best hashtags for each picture I post and not copying and pasting the same ones each time. And I've started to give likes and comments to other photographers work, of which one has reciprocated. But it's all very slow. I don't believe it's the photography that isn't interesting, it seems to be more about the sheer quantity of photos posted every day and mine getting buried.
I googled 'best times to post on instagram uk' and specific times of day were suggested for each day of the week. I don't know if those times are for a global audience or just UK viewers but I would want to attract attention from everywhere, not just the UK.
Has anyone here built up an IG account and did it take several months to get a small following? Do you have a specific time of day you would suggest works well? Any other tips?
