Looking for a trustworthy company to rent game servers from.

At the moment I'm after a Life is Feudal: Your Own server but other game support would be great in the future if I want to try out other games. Obviously I'd like to keep costs low but if I start out with say a 16 slot server I'd like to be able to upgrade in the future if required.

Payment wise I like to pay by PayPal. The more games they support the better.

UK / EU based servers essential.

Edit: Gah. Screwed up the title.

i3d.net - they never oversell hardware (putting to many servers on 1 box)

support replies in within 1 hour from the time i've emailed them

good control panel

Alas, they don't seem to support Life is Feudal: Your Own servers.

Whoever you choose, just don't pay more than the cheapest available server here:
https://www.soyoustart.com/en/essential-servers/

No point paying more to be on a shared server when you could get your own dedicated and use it for other stuff too.

You can pretty much set up every game-server within 10 minutes if you follow a guide.

That is really good price wise but I'd rather have a solution where I just click a couple of buttons to deploy a new game server.

I have completely the opposite experience, they were terrible when i rented my BF4 server the settings just would not apply, they told me to try another tool which semi worked but then the settings would mess up,never again would i go with these guys.

Fair enough :)

In that case, I'd probably recommend https://www.multiplaygameservers.com/

I've not used them for years though but they had good pricing, support and a very good control panel last time I used them.

When looking at those soyoustart servers don't forget to factor in a Windows license if your game needs it, that's about another £20/month.

Good thread, been toying with the idea of seeing if a BF4 Urban Warfare server would be popular. Pearl Market, Lumphini, Metro and Locker in rotation.
Some of my questions have been answered, thanks op.

I've used https://pingperfect.com a few times (7 days to Die, and a Day of Infamy server currently) and never had any issues with them.

They're probably not always the cheapest around but every time I've contacted them for support it's been a very fast response and the servers have always been fine.

Just had a quick check and Life is Feudal is about £10 for 32 slots (min amount it seems).

NOT gtxgaming , thats for damn sure

I had a server with them for Life is Feudal: Your Own which I cancelled. It was because of that experience that motivated me to start this thread in the first place. Now I have a server with Ping Perfect and it all seems to be working well which is great.

We used to use Multiplay a few years ago, they weren't the cheapest but were reliable and easy to use.

They are an established player - I'm a bit out of touch with who is behind the scenes now but was mostly good people back in the day some odd controversy aside.

Personally I'm a fan of renting your own dedicated server box which gives you far more flexibility and often cheaper for the bigger load games - though unfortunately for some games like BF4 the back end is locked down and you can't just run your own instance on your own box :( plus it does need a fair bit of technical knowledge.

they key thing is get someone who is easy to contact ! if you have any issues some of the companies are useless.used most of them for many games.the ones i prefer is not price related its how easy they are to get a hold of to sort issues.

when starting off running servers and building the popularity the last thing you want is few weeks in it going down for days and not being able to do anything just as it starts to get busy.you end up losing the people and your back to square one.

generally you get what you pay for. many cheap places will promise you the earth but generally will lack in support or squeeze you on some overloaded servers.lagfest.

also its a thank less task running a game server which consumes many hrs.it is great fun though when you get it right.

Can be an absolute ton of work - at one point I was running several L4D, CS, Trackmania and a few other game servers and eventually burnt out - I setup a bunch of webmin stuff as well along the lines of http://www.aten-hosted.com/images/minec1.jpg so I could give community admins considerably more power while limiting their ability to have full access.
