I've just built my new comp, and had it stable for two weeks now. Before I start a mild o/clock I wanted to know whats the best software to use to keep an eye on everything. I've seen a lot of referance to CPU-Z. This ok for vista 64?

Specs:

E6600
EVGA 680i
2gb Geil ddr 800 ultra
A/Cooler 7
8800 gts 640
Vista 64

not sure if these'll work in vista but use core temp to keep eye on temperatures and cpu-z to keep eye on clocks..

Just done a mild o/c, taking my E6600 to 2.66. D'loaded cpu-z, and its recognised my new speeds. Running my ram at a 3:4 ratio, so my ddr2 800 is running at 2 x 394.4, with 4 4 4 12 timings.

This all sound correct??

everest is the nuts... kicks the proverbial out of sisoft sandra imho...

it gets my fan speeds right... the temps look good, but then again all of my apps report the same temps... the only thing is i'm still to find a program that will report my vcore accurately...

good bit of kit, xcept fot the temps :)

In SpeedFan, with Trackmania United running in a window, im getting the following temps:

System: -65C
CPU: 44C
AUX: 43C
Core 0: 41C
Core 1 : 41C

These sound about right?

Use CoreTemp or TAT for the core temps. Speedfan seems to be a fair bit lower than them.

Yeah I usually find TAT gives the most accurate(read highest) temp.

TAT gives inaccurate readings in vista, it said my temps were at 67 idle with stock cooler but 42 in XP and it went over 80 under load, speedfan i find is the most accurate in vista
