Best Total War game for large scale battles?

Hi all.

I've been out of the loop of Total War games since Rome Total War.

I'm looking for the best total war game out there today, preferably swords/shields/bows and arrows etc.

Don't mind if it's a few years old, just looking for a decent version in terms of large scale battles, graphics + gameplay.

Napoleon has the most epic big battles in my opinion.

Shogun 2 is probably your best bet, going by what you prefer.

Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai is great and it does not need the base game to play

Rome is still better than anything thats come since if you don't mind the gfx. Shogun would prob be best though as both Empire and Napoleon were dire.

Rome is still my favourite of the series but I did enjoy the latest shogun. Just avoid empire it's not very good IMO.

Empire with Darth Mod Ultimate/Extreme whatever it's called. 120 man battalions increased to 500+

FOTS is everything that Empire should have been imo.

Would still like to see Medieval 2

I still find MTWII to have the most enjoyable battles, just wish they'd update the game. I'd happily pay full price for a better graphics engine on that game.

Shogun is pretty nice though, never liked Empire
