Mine: in no particular order
I really like fiction/fantasy!
Great:
Arcane:
I know arcane was end of 2021 but it's (probably) the best TV series I've ever watched. Thought it was absolutely amazing.
Castlevania season 4:
Another released in 2021 but watched in 2022. My favourite TV series in ages. Thought it was brilliant. Its niche audience for sure. But for me couldn't be better.
1899:
really liked this. Kind of thought it was going where it did. But many surprises. Definitely recommend.
Stranger things s4 :
good, but I do think it's starting to get less great and more good. Still love it though.
Moon knight:
one of the two great thing from D+. Really surprised by what it turned out to be. By a long way favourite thing on D+
Sandman:
one of my top 3 of the year. Its exactly the sort of show I like. Weird and quirky and fantasy. Yeah. Loved this.
Wednesday:
great spin off from addams family. Captures some of the weird. Maybe not weird enough but minor criticism. Well done series. Can see the broad audience appeal!
Wanda vision:
pretty good, WTF and almost turned out off after episode 1. But so many people said it gets better. Not a marvel fan anymore but this was really interesting.
Mandalorian:
decent start wars series and I prefer it too films. Star wars works better as series with film add ons (like star trek) not sure why it's taken so long to make series!
Ok:
Dota, season 3:
other seasons were better, got chaotic and crazy. But worth watching to finish it off.
Locke and key - final season:
better than some of the others. But always felt this show was a let down. Always felt what the characters did was frustrating "why would anyone do that?" and obvious actions taken by characters to fulfil a later plot point.
House of dragon:
just not that exciting to me. Not finished it yet. Felt like a period drama not a fantasy. The fantasy element is kind of irrelevant.
Resident evil:
expected cheese and trash. Got cheese and trash. OK. It is what it is.
Snow piercer season 3:
can't quite put this in great, but feels better than ok
Witcher:
Included as its end of 2021, never really got on with this show. Jumps around, doesn't tell you the place on the screen (ie in words) time frame or location and seems to deliberately make it difficult to understand. Shame as its usually the type of show I love.
Bad:
Cabinet of curiosities:
expected much better, only watched 2 of them
D+ in general:
had a 6 month free trial so ditched Netflix for this. Lasted 4 months and got Netflix back. Didn't continue with D+. Huge disappointment really. 3 good shows!
