Best tyres for motorbikes?

Guys,

My dads rear tyre on his bike is getting close to legal limit and I wanna get him a new one, he rides a Modfied Yamaha Virago 575XV so its a bit of a cruiser. What is the best make tyre to go for and can anyone reccommend a place in the SE London area to get it done?

It's probably best to take a look at what's on there already and get the same. Manufacturers generally develop the front and rear tyres together so if you mix them up it can adversely effect handling and also it looks better when the tread patterns are similar.

Yer, get one to match the front tyre. Best to have the same compound front and back.

You can get them much cheaper online than you can in the bike shops round here. I recommend buy the tyres online and get one of the tyre places to fit them. I have two here, Tower Scooters at Clock House (between Penge and Sydenham) they charge £5 per wheel to fit if you being the wheels in, or there's a part-worn tyre place on Sydenham high street on the way down to the Savacentre who also charge £5 to fit.
