Current system:
Dell precision T3500
Xeon X5687 @ 3.6ghz 4-core
12 gb DDR3 1600
PNY 1080 OC
4k OLED
Basically some have said i'm seriously gimping my 1080 with the Xeon setup, I was just wondering if I am, by how much, as I play a lot at 4k and using that slows fps, indicating its a GPU problem, not CPU. - possible upgrade paths:
new mobo/cpu/ram
another 1080 (whats the current state of SLI, borked?)
wait for Ti/Vega/whatever next
Thoughts? Yeah theres always space for improvement but i'm pretty happy actually playing games right now, not tinkering, I wouldnt class this as gimped if I only gain a small margin by changing the whole backbone of the system. As far as i'm aware I need a bit more GPU throughput, but heard SLI is borked? That would have been my first port of call
