Best Upgrades?

Hey,

I haven't been on here for a while due to uni work?

A quick question, what would be the best upgrade path for me?

I have a Asus P5KC Mobo ddr/ddr3

Q6600 (Not yet oced)

4Gb PC8500 DDR2

8800GTX

A number of SATA drives, the most recent of which is a 500gb drive which is split into 2, one half holds the OS and one half is used as a backup drive.

My plan was to buy a £70 SSD 30Gb for the OS, a 750w toughpower (been offered one for £50 New) and then change to a 280gtx in March my dissertation is over!?

yeah best option would be a new GFX card 260/280.?

and a nice cooler for that chip and clock it to at least 3.0GHz so it aint bottlenecking the new GFX card mate.

Depends what you want to do with it all. As above, if your looking for a boost in games the 280gtx would be a big upgrade. The psu sounds a good deal so if your current one is lacking I'd get that.

I have a Freezer Pro 7 i think atm! (Arctic) I will overclock it to 3.00 Ghz i think!

The 280gtx seems like the best upgrade

I had a hiper which blew up, so i gave away the replacement and bought a OCUK 550w PSU, but you can hear the PSU fan going like mad most of the time, so i think a Toughpower for that price would be a good investment.

The SSD for the OS is a good idea then?
