Best upscaling dvd players 200 quid and under.

i am looking at the samsung hd950 and it seems to have good reviews etc and i think its great it coems with a hdmi cable. are the any alternatives. i dont want to spend over 200 pound for a dvd plus cable. and it will be used with a 26inch sammy via hdmi.

The LG DVX9900H is a good alternative. Can be had for under £100 but you don't get an HDMI cable with it. I have one myself and thoroughly recommend it for the price. As far as quality goes I think the LG and the Sammy are pretty much equal. Since you have a Samsung TV I would probably go with the Samsung player though, just to keep things uniform.

For the money try a Oppo Digital OPDV971H. You will have to do a search as I can't post a link or try AV Forums.

just read up on the oppo, sounds amazing so i ordered it. cheers for that one mate, supposedly a dvd player as good as some in the 400 quid range and has no lipsync or issues that worried me about the samsung/denon dvd upscalers.Perfect. i be back with my views
