Best USB data recovery software?

Hi guys

I need abit of help here with trying to recover some work data from my usb drive that I somehow lost?!

Pulled the drive out like I always do (not had a problem before) and plugged it back in only to find all my data is gone :O?

Is there any good free data recovery software out there that can maybe help me get it back? It's quite important so please help me.

TestDisk is also worth mentioning and has worked well for me in the past.

I use power data recovery and also getdataback at work
Very good tools, have to pay for them but get the job done

Recovered many a teachers/accountants damaged usb drive - why they insist on working from a usb drive instead of working locally on a pc etc and then saving a copy to usb amazes me
