At the moment I'm using a cheap one from Arcsoft Total Media.
It works fine but there are a couple of things I wish it did but it doesnt, and I list:
1) Muting mutes sound for the entire computer. As does changning the volume. I want something with independant volume control so I can, for example, mute the tv while I listen to music.
2) Watch recording programmes while they are on, as with Sky+. This ArcSoft lets you record but you can't start to watch it until after it has finished.
3) When recording something and viewing it while it is on, an annoying Recording message flashes in the corner of the screen the entire time. This can't be removed and is completely pointless and irritating.
4) Record one channel and watch another. Can't do this with ArcSoft. Do any offer this?
5) Allow the TV window to be displayed on a second monitor. You cannot drag the window on to a secondary monitor. It has to be viewed on the primary monitor. Again, annoying and unnecessary.
Any suggestions?
